Oxbow Natural Science Line

Curious about others' thoughts on the Oxbow Natural Science line - if it has helped them in the past, or they find the ingredients a useful supplement to their pets' diet.

Example of the Urinary Tract supplement on Chewy

Product line includes:

• Digestive Support
• Vitamin C (not necessary for hamsters)
• Multi-Vitamin
• Skin & Coat
• Joint Support
• Urinary Support

As always with Oxbow products, it's hay-based, so there are pros and cons with that. I definitely found them to be more useful with my guinea pigs than my hamsters, but I've also never been sure if these products were helpful or not.

Note: This post doesn't include Oxbow Critical Care - that has always been very helpful to me (at least the herbivore version for my guinea pigs - have not tried the omnivore/carnivore versions, but the ingredients/reviews look good and they appear to be vet-recommended like the herbivore one is).

I'm only really aware of the critical care personally and haven't actually used it. The Urinary tract one has some interesting herbs, sometimes used for humans. I'm not sure why they always base them on Timothy Hay as hamsters don't need that. I would think some of these might be helpful if a hamster had a particular condition, but personally I'd check with a vet before using them

Totally agree with checking with a vet before using health-related products if you can help it.
