My OH will sort it Friday but Otto won't be without a wheel until then.

Considering that this is his third home and he's in a different cage, Otto is settling in fast. He is currently racing around on the floor and into everything.

Otto has big ears.

Adorable photo of his little face peeping out! I hope you find a good solution to the Silent runner wheel issue - I'm sure you will :) Lovely that Otto has big ears! I'm looking forward to seeing his big ears more often :ROFLMAO:

Aww Otto, too cute 😍

Hope the wheel fix works, I had the same problem with one of my silent runners although it was on the stand not the bars & ended up taking bits from other wheels to sort it.

Interesting. New boy Otto is not keen on Harry Hamster and prefers the Little One mix. I'm pretty sure that he hadn't tried either before.
He didn't eat much the first couple of nights but last night i heard a lot of crunching coming from his nest.
Must put a treat inside his house to see if i can tempt him in. He is cozy under the big shelf though with a cork log in front of it. It's the burrowing area with cardboard and mats on the bars to keep the substrate in and drafts out.
Oops, i forgot to put strips of toilet paper in. I knew there was something i forgot but will do it now.
The layout is similar to his Hamster Heaven with the addition of a wheel, house, sand etc.
He slept in that corner before under the green HH plastic shelf and pee'ed in the corner opposite and that's what he's doing now in Jack's Alaska.

Otto's in the corner under the shelf and i can hear him munching. Jack used to do that in the same cozy nest. I miss our lovely Jack and wished he was still with us but it helps to see another unwanted hamster enjoy his home.

Otto must feel secure in that corner, maybe a familiar spot in a different cage makes him feel safer while it’s all so new.
It does look cosy under there & he sounds as though he’s settling in happily, I can just imagine crunching noises coming from the photo!
I can imagine how much you must be missing Jack, giving your home & heart to a new ham that needs you does help but you still feel the loss.

Otto's cage looks lovely - so much for him to do. Agree, you must miss Jack a lot. But so nice that Otto now has a lovely home with you.

I put a treat in Otto's house and he went in to get it then carried it to his nest under the shelf. Oh well, he's comfy.

Otto is such a beautiful hamster. I love his ears too. They make him look curious like he is listening. :)

Oh wow, Otto is adorable, love his colouring and those gorgeous ears, he’s very handsome. He’s going to have so much fun with you in his new forever home. Look forward to reading all about him as he settles in 🐹😃

Ooh I love him. And his ears! Charlie had very big ears too :)

He really is very handsome & those ears are impressive! He looks so adorable.

I think Otto's colouring is similar to Hammy's and Jack's.

Blooming heck! Otto needs a splash guard. I've just watched him reversing into his corner toilet almost doing a handstand with a stream of wee escaping the cage!

Yep. I had the same issue with our first Syrian Henry.
Otto may resemble Jack in looks but he is nothing like Jack who would sit in his toilet nicely and wee without splashing it everywhere!
