It was me who accidently jammed the wheel. I added more bedding to his cage yesterday and stupidly forgot to check the wheels would spin afterwards.I've never had a hamster that liked crickets either. I wonder what jamming the wheel full of bedding means? It has come after his big adventure (health check) as well so might be a security thing or a cold thing - hard to tell. Or a bit of both. Maybe he wanted one wheel full of bedding so he could get cosy in between running in the other wheel? Or - is he nesting in the wheel? I've heard of some hamsters moving their nest to their wheel if they think their nest is disturbed. Our first robo had two nests - and if I did any spot cleaning at one end of the cage he'd move to his other nest. Then when I spot cleaned the other half of the cage a couple of weeks later, he'd move back to his first nest again.
