I came to share some more about Oreo! I rescued her in April. In the picture you can see what she came home in and what she was upgraded to. I'm not sure how old she is but look how little she was 
She is probably the chillest, most go-with-the-flow hamster I've ever had. She's not jumpy at all and she's never bitten. She loves being nosy and listening in to conversations, especially about her! She also takes more baths than any hamster I've ever seen.
On the flip side she's also a troublemaker and will try to escape from everything
She also loves to hide and is way too good at it...
It is very hard to get a good photo of her because she doesn't like to be still for very long and my phone camera can't keep up lol

) so we couldn't use the front door. I finally bought a new one when it broken even more and a whole piece of acrylic just popped out! I was absolutely dreading building it because the first one took hoooours to build. This time around it looks like they've added some pieces of acrylic to hold the rubber seals open and that has made a huge difference! We got it built in under an hour which was such a relief. Now I need to figure out what to do with the dodgy old broken one 
The only food she will refuse to eat is freeze dried pumpkin. She just pretends it doesn't exist. A few months ago in these pics she was a lot chubbier. I was worried I'd over fed her! Now that she has been unwell with pyometra and has had a spay, she is lighter and I'm trying to help her put that weight back on. The last pic is her today enjoying some porridge.
That first cage makes me feel sad 
. Thank you so much for posting all those lovely photos of her. The little cage comparison with the Bucatstate really shows how crazy and awful cages like the small one are!
I'm pleased she's feeling well but she really doesn't wanna stay in her playpen. Does anyone's hamster enjoy the playpen?
used to be crazy when in heat 
She wasn't a fan of playpen time or being handled, preferring to be in her own enclosure. She did use to like to have a chat tho, and was very vocal! I just went with the flow with her, and let her be her own hamster 
I guess it can be a bit disappointing if you especially wanted a super cuddly ham, but she was so funny and quirky that she really didn't disappoint!
. But having him as he is is so much better than not having him at all. He seems contented enough, so I won't try to force him to do what he doesn't want to.
