Hello all, I bought a 3 month old Roborovski hamster yesterday. I think he's male, but haven't had a good look yet, and I also think he's an agouti. I've kept countless small furries since childhood, but I've been without one for over a year now, since my chinchilla passed away. I've had Syrian and dwarf hamsters before, but Obie is my first Robosovski. His full name is Oberdhal Bobbleknob 😉 I expected him to move like lightning and be terrified, but he seems very confident and laid-back. I think he might even be handleable already, but I'm going to give him 2 weeks to settle into his new home before I attempt to pick him up. Woke up at 5am yesterday and didn't go back to sleep as I was so excited to be getting him! Been awake since 7am this morning just watching him and talking to him 😊

Hello :-) Ooh this all sounds very exciting! A laid back robo (they do exist). I absolutely love his name - we've had a few like that before! I've had two robos before and found them to be great little communicators, via looks, behaviour and body language. Mine would sit and listen for long chats or get my attention if something had gone wrong (ramp toppled over). He will probably do some zoomies at some point!

He's gorgeous! I love robos :-)

It's hard to tell from the photo. He looks a bit like an agouti but also has quite a bit of white lower on his face :-) There are only three official colours I think - unless that has changed: Agouti, white faced and pied. But - there are some white roborovskis, black pied ones and variations that occur sometimes. But I think he's an agouti - and it's maybe the angle of the photo :-)

Oh I do love robos. Obie does look ever so sweet. I look forward to seeing more pics.
