Socks: The seagrass tunnel is one of my favourite places in my cage, it makes me feel safe. Hamsters love having more than one entrance to a tunnel or hide ❤️

I like the seagrass tunnel too. They have tilted the middle bit so its diagonal and allows me to climb out or pop my head out if my mum has a tasty treat in her hand. Talking of food, take a look at my stash in the pictures!! Since getting rid of those plastic rub tubes I have moved the stash into this maze. They took the haybox off to get that photo, my mum was worried as she hasnt seen me and the last time she did see me i bore my teeth at her..i think i was a bit stressed after the bad weather we had and mummy was just being her normal energetic 9 year old self and got upset that ididnt want to be around her anymore.

Im not using that haybos at all, do you think they should get rid of it, especially as i just heard my mums' mum sayshe read the comment about hey mites! I would expose my maze though, so im guessing thats not good?

Anyway, thanks for te cleaning tips...i dont think the grown up humans know where im peeing and pooping ow i have this maze, so they will need to explore a little for te spot cleaning.....

I bet she's enjoying her maze house :-) I didn't quite understand about the hay box leaving the house without a roof? Did the house not have a roof? Hay is fine if you freeze it first :-) For a week ideally.

I remember Socks showing his teeth once. He was in a temporary box while I was doing a big change to his cage set up, and I was adding paper bedding to the box by dropping it in. He stood up on his hind legs and showed his teeth to stop me dropping bits of paper around him, and I was quite surprised. But after a nap he was OK again ❤️

That what happened with me :) My mummy is okay about it now, she thought i had lost trust with her but we had some nice playing this morning and she handled me (though i do jump off quickly).

It's usually just fear - a defence thing :-)

By the way, you could start a personal/diary thread for Leia if you want :-) It's where people post updates, photos and videos of their hamster so others can follow and share in her antics :) It would be in the Syrian section here
