about 2 months since we got him from the pet store

Ok so he's had a while to settle in now then. He's probably ready for out of cage time and some hand taming and socialising 
Do you have a playpen or hamsterproof area? Or a dry bathtub initially? And also maybe work out what to use as a "taxi" for getting him out. I use a large rat tube. The pawhut is open at the top so lowering a tube in would seem less threatening then a hand coming from above. You could hold it at a slight angle so he could walk in. If he's a bit cautious, a bit of cucumber at your end helps tempt them in. It's all in the taming guide anyway

We are working on getting a playpen, haven't had much time out of the cage but we are working on either getting the playpen or using a dry bathtub and we will probably use a tube or a cup to get him out of the cage.
