My hamster died recently and I don't know why

You know Hazel? Well...
She passed away a few days ago and I only had her 5 months. I found her in her burrows just... dead.
I had fed her recently, and I cleaned her water every morning! Does anyone have any idea why she died???

I am so sorry. That must have been such a shock and it's so sad and unfair when she was so young. Sometimes we never know why, but when a young hamster dies, with no signs of ill health, it is often just some congenital issue inside they were born with - eg a weak heart. It's very sad. You had such a lovely set up for her as well. I am so sorry for your loss. Hazel is playing free over the rainbow bridge now
