My First Hamster!

Today I got my first ever hamster (a process a year in the making!). Right now I’m looking for name ideas, she’s an adorable Black Russian dwarf with the littlest white paws. I’ve been thinking about something flower related or French, but I’ve kinda been at a loss.

Thank you all so much! I’m still undecided on a name (bad selection anxiety haha) but I did get a picture of her this morning! I think I accidentally woke her up when I was checking her multiple times chamber so she looks a little grumpy.

She's gorgeous Yes best to give her two or three days without being disturbed while she adjusts to her new environment. Let her come to you You can keep talking to her through the enclosure during that time, so she gets familiar with your scent and voice. Then maybe try offering her some treats.

It's so hard when we want to see and hold them at first, but it takes a bit of patience so they don't get too stressed

She is beautiful. Hopping hammy on you tube has a mostly black dwarf hamster with white on his body and paws.

Yes ofc! I’ve been leaving her alone for now, I thought she was in her other burrow and was only expecting to find pee in there haha.
