That’s true and they are far more intelligent than most people realise. Nibbles seems to enjoy being stroked on the back, he doesn’t like it on his sides though he kicks my hand with he hind legs if I stroke the wrong place. He also enjoys a stroke on the head. But after a few strokes and a bit of sniffing the quilt he climbed back into the cage (he has done this the last two nights). My jaw dropped when he climbed back 🫪 he pulled himself up, and there was me faffing about building ramps and whatnot

They know when we love them. But you probably need to be savvy with Nibbles, he is a clever little guy

I do sometimes feel judged when he gives me a stare when he’s in one of his moods on the other hand now and again he gives me a lick their tongues are quite chunky i never expected that…

Yes he is very sweet
But I still wonder why he has to come out of the cage just to climb back in after five minutes
I think he wants to show me that he can get in by himself. Very strange

I knew he was planning something! last night before I could take the taxi out of his cage after putting him back, he rushed to the door and climbed on my sleeve. Before i could catch him, he jumped onto the cushion and was having zoomies in the kitchen (I could just imagine him whistling Scotland the brave and shouting freedom!)
Usually he is finished after 5 minutes, not yesterday! He has great fun, climbing into my work handbag, scent marking the carpet and playing with the curtains. He came when I called and tapped, only to give a quick sniff and zoom off again. After 45 minutes I managed to persuade him to climb into a small basket and whisked him off to bed.
He was out from 1:45 until 4 o’clock zooming on his wheel and checking if he could open the door. Also meercating towards the door, clearly waiting for me to come back

It was a bit annoying last night as I wanted to go to bed
But Nibbles was well entertained, and I found hamster poo in my hand bag maybe he thought I might need a treat at work?

The next heatwave is rolling in. They have forecasted up to 35 degrees here
I hope it doesn’t stick around too long. I have been able to keep the flat nice and cool the last few days (20 degrees)
So I am prepped with an air cooler, parasols for the balcony, blackout blinds and ice pads for under the cage. Unfortunately the Bucatstate has not arrived yet, it’s on its way but still in Poland.
So the option of wheeling it into a the coolest place is not possible, although if the heat gets in, I suppose every room will be more or less the same
I hope it passed fast

Yes they really help. The only problem is I can’t put them up if it’s too windy. But usually it’s not windy in a heat wave until the storm sets in
