Winter white dwarf

Ever since I joined this forum a few weeks ago, I have been so excited to post this thread! On Friday, I adopted my first ever hamster. It took me a day to come up with a name because I couldn’t figure her gender. I think she is a girl but once I’m able to hold her, I can confirm. Willow made herself right at home in her new enclosure. Since she was doing so well, I fed her a baby puff out of my hand after she woke up. Willow was surprisingly comfortable with eating in my hand. I’m excited to continue taming her! I am very young and I hope to continue improving my hamster care through research and now, experience!

She is absolutely gorgeous :) I'm so happy for you that she is friendly. Can't wait to hear about her taming journey. You could start a "diary" thread for her if you want under the Dwarf Hamster section - where you can upload photos and updates about her :)

Congrats! Willow really beautiful, good to hear she’s settling in so well already, look forward to seeing more of her.
In some of those photos she looks a bit like a little Chinesey!

I thought that too! But she can’t be as she doesn’t have the tail. Maybe it’s the colouring that makes her look a bit like a Chinese hamster - and her face shape a bit. Photo 3 definitely looks Russian dwarf hamster pose though to me :-)

Congratulations on adopting Willow. She is a lovely looking hamster and it will be good to follow her progress with you as she settles down in her new home.

I know, it’s just a few of the photos, in the others she does look like a typical little Russian!
