Hi,new to the group, but not new to hammies. Kept them since I was twenty and am fifty now . How times have changed ,but I also agree with the German standard of care. I would like to introduce my newest boy Robin,he is five months, and my little Darling. Here he is enjoying his playpen. My.partner also keeps Robos,so our friends call our house hamster ville lol

Hello. Robin is adorable! That little face :-) I love the cardboard box hide. And his multiroom house looks to have been painted in a rather nice shade!

Hi,and thankyou,I have attempted to attach a front view of his aura, the colour seems a bit off. And yes,his dig boxes are an amazing bright red, including his top hides, very fitting for a Robin.

He has a lovely home there. Yes very suitable for a Robin :-)

Thankyou, and he is such a gentleman that I didn't need to attach grass mats,he is so happy in here.He doesn't climb or bar bite.

I gave him a jar on a platform as a sand bath, and have since removed that bendy bridge.

I find they tend not to bar climb or bite anyway once the cage is big enough :) Except maybe bar climbing the first night when they are exploring the cage. The Aura has really narrow bar spacing as well which helps.

It's lovely he is a real gentleman. He sounds a real sweetie. How old is he?

Yes ,I find that too,the first week he was everywhere, and also with previous hamsters. I did worry that his curiosity would get the better of him as it's so tall. However, once he realized how tallmit was,he became scared and has been a ground dweller ever since. He loves his little shelf by the door as he can beg for treats and be seen. He is five months old. I got him at 8 weeks after I lost my little old lady Penny, see below.

I'm so sorry about Penny. One of mine loves a little shelf next to the door as well :)

Beautiful hammies. Snuggle softly at the bridge lovely Penny 🌈 It's great that Robin has settled in so well and is not climbing or biting the bars. Lovely to have someone with so much experience on the forum 👍

Some of us have an individual thread for their hamster under the species section. A kind of diary/updates thread where we post photos and updates about the hamster as they progress :-) If you're interested. So it would just be starting a thread in the Syrian Hamster section linked below. You can call it whatever you want. Robin's Diary or Robin's really good adventures, or just Robin!
