Albert lives in a HH and has a 20cm Trixie wheel. It sits on the substrate. I press the substrate down very firm under the wheel to give it stability and then attach the wheel to the bars with safe string and a food clip. I've never had a problem with Albert burrowing underneath.

Hello little Pete! You are very cute.

Both my dwarfs live in Hamster Heavens and have the 9in Silent Runner wheel. I bought the attachment plates with the wheels and attached them to the bars.

That's about the only suitable wheel i can think of that attaches to the bars in a HH without touching the base.
