Little Pete update

That playpen outing went really well and Pete seems to be enjoying himself. Great that he let's you scoop him up already.
Did you put him back when he stayed in the tube at the end?

I think the second video is the same as the first one?

Hello little Pete :) He's a lovely colour! He looks like he's enjoying exploring there. And likes that little red ball. I watched all of it. I think a noise made him jump just before he shot inside the brown tube. But he got over that. He looks quite chilled to me.
Yes the slow cooker rattled it's lid but he soon got over that he really seemed to enjoy the change of environment

Oh no another Ooops moment other half helped me with the first one but obviously I'm a slow learner left to my own devices

Yes he had been in and out of it running through it a few times so on the last one he stayed in so I used it as a taxi he went to bed when he was back in his cage think his adventure tired him out he,s only a baby 🙂

I tend to only do playpen time every two or three days at first, so they still keep their habits in their cage. Did you try offering a treat on the palm of your hand when he was in there? Gradually he may start walking onto your hand after a few times of doing that.
I won't be putting him back in his playpen till Monday he took a treat from my fingers but ignored my hand small steps

:ROFLMAO: Don't worry. I've deleted the second one now (as it was the same one).

Well for a baby he does seem quite active and confident and didn't look scared. Apart from when he heard a noise. My Syrian gets like that if he hears the slightest clinking noise in the kitchen. Strangely bigger noises don't bother him but little clinks like a teaspoon in a cup do! Mainly because he knows it's not me, as I'm there - which means there is "someone else" around!

Thank you 👍🙂

Pete looks so cute, fantastic he’s already enjoying a bit of playpen time. Re veg, our Syrian really enjoys a pea. I take two out the freezer about an hour before feeding him, Babycorns are a favourite here too and seem to last ages in the fridge. I cut just a small piece off and then cut it in half again.

Good to know because something I always have available have bought Pete a broccoli but probably only use a tiny amount before I need to bin it

That is true that you won’t use much of a whole broccoli. I find they keep about a week in the fridge before going limp. Getting half a cucumber may be a better option on the case. It still lasts a week in the fridge but you’d have less wastage and cucumber is always popular. It’s also handy to have a strong smelling thing like that handy in case you ever need to tempt him into something (eg for a health check of he doesn’t want to emerge).

If you go to a farm shop or green grocer where they sell veg loose and explain that you only need a tiny amount for a hamster, they probably give you a few bits for free.
