I had a similar thing with Raffy the night before last. I had just turned the lights out to go up to bed when he had got up and I decided to carry on going up to bed and avoid eye contact thinking no I am not staying up till gone 1 in the morning. In the hope he might get up earlier if he missed a night.
Well last night he was in a foul mood! No chirpy cheery Raffy when I called his name. He looked very miffed and I had great trouble finding him once he was out and he deliberately ignored me when I called him. I am definitely in the bad books. He was even a bit snappy when I put my hand down to him and brushed me off!

My OH put down his razor and rushed to the kitchen to make porridge so Jack didn't have to wait for long

Soon as Clive got the whiff of it, he came out of his house sniffing.
I sat on the floor watching Lilly having fun in the dig boxes.
This is a typical morning scenario here and not a bad start to a day.

I think Jack is starting to show signs of ageing. He must be at least 18 months now and has started to slow down.
He's like my OH (70) who will nod off if he sits down for long enough.
Last night Jack asked to come out at 22.15! He doesn't normally get up that late. After a good half hour he parked himself next to me waiting to get put back home.
He's also losing his plump, youthful looks and is starting to look like me, somewhat wilted.
See what time he appears tonight. He always gets up to fetch his fresh food soon as it arrives to take it back to his nest to eat.

It sounds as though he’s aging gracefully & happily, it’s a bit sad when you realise they are showing signs of age but sometimes it’s the best of times with them too.

He came out but not the obvious way. He turned around and walked to the back shelf, stepped onto the cork log, walked across the cage and came out from underneath the bridge.
He's funny like that and always goes the long way round, even to get to his porridge in the morning.
