Hello :-) First thing is - please don't get two hamsters! Just one. Regardless of which species it is, it is not really safe to get two and have them live together even if a pet shop has told you it is. They invariably end up fighting which can lead to sudden maiming or killing - usually when their hormones start kicking in and regardless of sex.

I assume it's a dwarf hamster you're looking at? Because Syrian hamsters must always live alone - even pet shops seem to know that!

The cage looks like the Grosvenor cage but I can't tell if it's the 100cm one or the 78cm one :-) If it's the 100cm one it would be fine for 1 dwarf hamster. It's a little bit on the low side for a Syrian hamster to be able to fit enough bedding and an 11" wheel as well. Its a very nice cage. It might be ok for a roborovski dwarf hamster, but the bar spacing is 1cm. Narrower bar spacing would be better for a roborovski ideally. If it's the 78cm one, it's a bit on the small side as 100cm is the recommended minimum even for one tiny hamster.

It looks like you've bought the cage :-)

Have you seen the recommended cage list on here? :-) You mentioned you were in Poland - are there good options for buying hamster cages there or is it mainly Amazon? It doesn't want to be too tall either maybe 50 to 60cm tall if it's for a Syrian or 40cm to 45cm tall if it's for a dwarf. I take it you're getting a Syrian hamster? Also presumably it's not too late to exchange or get a refund?

Ok if it's for a dwarf hamster, it doesn't want to be taller than 50cm to avoid fall risks and, if you're planning on having deep bedding - 8" to 10". If you're only planning to fill the base with bedding then 50cm would be a bit tall as well and the height of the cage you have there is a good height for a dwarf hamster - it would still allow for a deep bedding end.

It is not a bad size for a dwarf hamster but the recommendations are larger than that :-)

Afraid your avatar was removed :-) Was it a common meme? That can happen.

Looking forward to meeting your new hamster 😊. Just ask if you need any tips on setting the cage up.

Great to hear you are getting a hamster. Good luck with your search 🥰🐾
