You can also soak terra cotta in water and it will stay cooler due to evaporation. However, if the humidity gets too high the evaporative cooling doesn't work as wellYou can do things like put any ceramic or terracotta hides in the fridge and give them to Jas when they are cold. You could try putting her sand in the fridge and putting it back in her sand box when that is cool. You could get a marble tile or what is known as a cooling tile for her to sit or lie on.
Yes those are greatYou’re best off getting the bucatstate castle hide! It’s got a secret compartment at the top and you can put ice packs in, so it keeps it nice and cool without concern!
Aw she does look a bit flaked. Do you have anything terracotta in the cage? I have a terractotta plant pot base under a water bottle - that can go in the fridge to be cooled and they sometimes like to sit on it to cool off. A mug is maybe not big enough for her to consider perhaps
I'm actually rather partial to the heatwave! It's tiring but relaxing as well. Not so nice for hamsters though.Yes, I am longing for the heat wave to shift. The frozen peas is a good idea, should take off some of the heat![]()
