Theres a robo for adoption near me and I kind of want it but I was looking for a syrian, do you think I should get it? considering I really wanted a syrian... Currently its in a really small petstore cage that has another robo in it with him.

Robos are lovely - they are very different to Syrians, but in some ways easier. They are generally known as more "watch" pets as aren't easy to tame or handle - there are exceptions.

They are quite low maintenance as they barely pee (so don't need much cleaning) and often don't enjoy handling. So I would say they are very easy pets as long as you're happy for them to be most likely "hands-off".

Daisy is right - they pee such tiny amounts and most of that evaporates! When I came to do a third cage clean on my robos cage, I could see a small area in the corner where he had pee'd and had been using that area as a toilet as the bedding was a different colour but it was actually dry and didn't even smell! My robo also used a litter tray inside a house :-) Which surprised me - I think they will only use a litter tray if it's inside a multiroom house that is dark inside though.

If you want to find out more about robos, I've linked my last robos thread so you can scroll through and see what kind of life he had and what he got up to. Although his cage set up wasn't ideal in terms of today's standards and I would recommend something with less height!. But it worked fine until he got older when I adjusted it. There was a large hammock stretched across the top of the roof inside at roof level, which he wasn't supposed to be able to access - it was there as a safety precaution - just in case he managed to climb up to the roof - which I thought was unlikely, because robos aren't good at climbing bars. The idea was, if he did get up there and drop, it would catch him and break a fall. What actually happened, as I saw on my nightcam - was he went from a shelf, hopped into a lower cardboard hammock (also there to catch any potential fall just as overhead cover) and from there he stood up, pulled the edge of the large hammock down and hopped in! He could get off at the other side by hopping down to his large shelf. This wasn't intended! However he loved it and would sit up there snacking in the hammock. It was working fine so I left it until he got older and then raised the bedding even more and had everything at floor level as it was safer for an older robo.

He would do lots of zoomies and would make us laugh. He also used to come out during the day sometimes. He was never really tame, despite a few attempts in the playpen. But he would sit and listen if you talked to him so we had long chats - but he'd run away if a hand was in the cage.
