Thank you Hank. He still has so much energy and seems very well. I did think he shows he looks a bit older facially from that photo though.

This is Higgins the night before last 
The sofa covered in obstacles - a couple of parcels dumped on there, which gave him a bit of an obstacle course.
The second one is him having one of his pieces of popcorn as a treat. He had another one after that, and then spent some time in the playpen. Where he went in the carrot cottage for a while clearly to depouch and eat them. Didn't get any video of him in the playpen as he wanted back on the sofa shortly afterwards and then got too fast!

He's looking good, and what a great adventure on the couch! I like the little hop onto the cushion, did he zoom around afterwards?

I found it's royal mail that drags out the delivery from their. I buy their subscription box,last month it took forever to get to me. Customer services showed me when they posted out(it usually takes three days),I got it a few days later. However ,on my next box,I had it within a couple of days.Just had a look

And still very active. He's always been "whizzy". He normally zooms around afterwards, but this time he sat in his hay house to eat the popcorn!They do vary - some have larger ears than others - it's cute
His ears might be more noticeable because they are grey - a different colour to the rest of his coat. That's because he's a pedigree "yellow" colour - they look similar to cream or cinnamon but they have different markings, including the grey ears.

He is!! Still has full focus and drive, that's so cute he took a snack break for a change. His fur is looking really good too, nice and full coat. Happy to see him living his best life with you

So Higgins finally had his belated birthday party last night I have some videos but haven't had chance to upload them yet as I left the camera running a long time and need to edit it a bit to cut out the gaps! He had a lovely time but I'll let you see when I get the videos uploaded. His birthday celebration last night was about half way between his actual birthday and his gotcha date.

So here are Higgins 2nd birthday party videos (even though his second birthday was on 16th July - so belated birthday party).
I split them into two separate ones, so it wasn't too long to watch. The first one he is discovering his "cake". And other treats. He had the rosewood "cake", an "ice cream cone" and a new carrot cottage. His old carrot cottage is bald - still in the playpen and he still chews at it!
After the first one he went back to his cage for a few minutes to depouch but came out again for some more fun and foraging in the second video. For the second one I put the camera on the floor to get a close up of him at hamster level!
The third one was with my phone (you can still see the camera on the floor) and he had bit of a dig in the hay inside the "cake" and then was really quite funny - he attacks my trouser leg and tries to rip them a bit
and always tries to climb my leg but this time he got a fair way up it. He also sometimes climbs my leg inside my trousers which hurts! It's just something to climb. He also had some time on the sofa in between all this. A few photos of that below.

I think he might not always realise how sharp his claws are The footage taken at hamster level is lovely, he's having so much fun. Happy birthday Higgins

Higgins says thank you The cake is a similar idea to a carrot cottage - food stuck to cardboard - although this one says cellulose - a bit thicker than cardboard maybe. Coconut on top and carrot round the sides. Similar to the carrot cottage again. No idea what's in the little balls but rosewood treats are usually good and pet-safe and sugar-free I'd never had one before, but others have had them
What was interesting was he just seemed wary of it for a while and only sniffed it. It wasn't till I tried lifting the top off and having it nearer floor level that he actually tried eating it. It made me laugh every time one of the little balls rolled off. He ended up pouching all the balls eventually. They hay inside it was more like grass - it wasn't too bad. Whole thing had been in the freezer obviously.
He had one of the ice cream cone treats last year and managed to get hold of the ball in his mouth and run around with it! So I think now older, that wasn't going to be attempted - he maybe knows his limitations.
