Hello and welcome :-). I’m so sorry about Ponyo. Wheh you say her brothers and sisters, did you have an accidental litter?

I didn't have it. I mean i will adopt same species like her which is Syrian. Im still thinking to adopt male or female.

Ah ok :-) I'm sure you'll find lots of info on here and don't hesitate if you have any questions - we can give suggestions.

Female Syrians can be notorious for needing a lot of space. All hamsters need plenty of space, but for some females, no enclosure is big enough! It might depend what you can find for adoption and maybe the hamster will choose you if there's more than one :-)

I know in some countries there isn't much choice in larger cages or enclosures and people end up having to diy.

Yeah,
Since Ponyo always wanted to went out from the cage, im try to making for bigger enclosure to give more toys and hide out. The last time i was used barely minimum container (70L) because the pet shop said this container is good enough for her.

True, Maz!
What make me wary, there is no spesific classifications about the cage materials, is it toxic or non for small animals.

I just replied on your other post about that. If board is enclosed with hard laminate (like the ikea type things) then it is sealed in and fumes aren't an issue. But any cage needs to have very good ventilation - ideally at least the full roof meshed with 1cm mesh. Laminated board is also less chewable than wood or plywood as some hamsters will just chew a hole and escape!

Daisy wrote a very good article about safe woods :-)

hello this is tako, a male syrian. His age is around 2 - 3 months. He is very active and happy to get his own enclosure.

Can't remember if I mentioned this already, but you might want to start a "diary" thread for him in the Syrian section :-) People have a specific thread for their hamster and update it now and then with their antics, photos and videos. You can also see others diaries there :-)
