I'd like everyone to meet Henry! He's a hybrid, and just got him yesterday. A new pet store opened up down the block, and when I saw him I had to. He seems a bit older, want to guess about 4 months or so? Looks fully grown to me.

The plan was to give him a week to settle in, but while working remotely he kept pawing at the walls when I was near. So we did an introduction, and he climbed right on to munch some treats. No testing nibbles, he must be saving them for later. He seems super friendly and curious, I bet he's going to be a big explorer when he's ready for out of bin time down the road.

Henry really does sound lovely, so glad you’ve got him now & he sounds like he is going to be a lot of fun, lovely to hear how comfortable he is with you already.

He seems happy also eager to explore further is he thinking wonder whats beyond this thing preventing me from going further 😀

Quick update on Henry, he has had some mild diaherra over the weekend. I added some oats and a bit more fiber to his diet, he seems to be over it. We did have a chance for a second interaction, and it was the dead opposite. He gave me some pretty good bites, just wasn't in the mood to have me in his bin. I think the smell of my hands confused him too, I had made the mistake of washing my hands with some scented soap the first time.

So going back to the original plan and slowing down for Henry. He's very active and out whenever he pleases, sometimes during the day as well. Maybe after this week if he seems ready, I'll try an interaction on neutral ground. He might just enjoy exploring around, hoping to share some footage of it for you guys

Glad to hear Henry got over the diarrhoea ok & is active & well.
He sounds as though he’s keeping busy, it’s a shame he wasn’t so keen to interact this time, he’s probably just making himself at home & needs a little time.
I’m sure he’ll be happy to spend some time with you soon.

Henry seems to be warming up to me, his curiosity has returned and he's sniffed me a few times without biting. No more signs of an upset stomach, he seems 100% again so I'm slowly reducing the oats. I've been working long hours the past week, today he came out when he heard me working from home. Once he's more settled in I would like to add some more clutter. He is absolutely loving the opportunity to burrow deep, I can only imagine how much of a relief that is compared to being at a pet store. The Niteangel still confuses him a bit, curious to see how soon he figures it out.

Here's some footage I was able to grab during lunch:

Brilliant video he is obviously very happy with his new environment 👍

Henry had an absolute ball overnight, I've never seen a hamster zoom around and explore like he did. Climbed all over everything, and only stopped for a snack break. He finally figured out the Niteangel, and decided to sprint on it as much as possible. He jumps up to get it going full speed, and loves it. Every shot the camera took ended with him going to the wheel and jumpstarting it.

He seems ecstatic the past two days, and my initial guess that he was a little explorer might be right. Henry has a ton of energy, and down the road he might need a bigger space to explore than my hamster proofed bedroom.

Here's some footage of him:
Can't go fast enough!
Here, there, Henry everywhere
