The thing is that he was sleeping in his house until now. I have rearranged a little the cage, but I haven't touched the house. It’s not that unusual for them to sleep in odd places until they settle a bit, they usually move into the house if it’s a suitable one or dig under somewhere to make a nest.
Have you cleaned his house at all? That can make them move out sometimes but they usually get over it.
He is in his house again, but thank you for your adviceI'd try putting a smelly treat in the house with a trail of sunflower seeds leading in there, and a big pile of paper nesting material outside the house - just torn up strips of plain white toilet paper. That should tempt him back in there tonight
It can take them two weeks to fully settle into a change and he's probably a bit disorientated. It's better not to clean anything or move things around for a couple of weeks nowGenerally hamsters never like anything moved! But once they are settled and at home, they tolerate the odd change (but may follow your hand around anxiously to see what you're up to!).
They scent mark everything and find a routine in the first couple of weeks.
Welcome Polo what a little beauty looking forward to hearing more about youFinally, the hamster is here. There was only one of the two boys available, so the decision was easy. I had to stay strong because the adult longhair was super pretty.
