I just opened a new bag of Harry Hamster tonight and think it looks different. It has some of the original looking ingredients but there seem to be an awful lot of grains and some different coloured pellet logs. Or proportions look different.

Long time since I’ve looked at a bag of Harry Hamster but it does look different to me, are there any changes on the ingredients or nutrition on the bag?

The bag I bought a while back hardly has any grains in it. It's mainly big pieces. I don't recognise those pellet logs either...they must be a new addition. Are the nutritional values the same?

That’s what I mean - I don’t remember all those grains. Unfortunately I don’t have an older bag to compare the ingredients.

Here's a photo of my bag...there are grains but much less than yours by the looks. I even gave my bag a stir in case all the grains had settled to the bottom. Either you have a rogue bag, or it's a cost cutting move by Harry Hamster 🤔

Mine does seem to have those pellet logs in...I just hadn't noticed them. They look a bit like science selective.

And here's the ingredients list/nutrition information

Thank you - yes that is what it usually looks like. This is the ingredients list on my new bag. I have another bag in the freezer, bought at the same time - so might open that to see if it’s the same.

It's the same ingredients list on the packaging! But looks to be mainly wheat grains.

The pellets used to be darker I think and were mainly the roughage.

It would be interesting to see if the other bag you bought is the same.

I am not impressed! It shouldn't look like that. Yes I will open the other bag later, but as I got them both at the same time I suspect it will be the same batch - but we shall see.

Hmm, mine looks like this, bought in store. The packet is made from quite thick plastic. I wonder if yours could be some kind of on line rip off?

Yes that looks normal. I did buy it online but from the same place as usual (on Amazon). Maybe a faulty batch. But that is unusual.

Sorry I didn’t update before - so I opened the second bag of Harry Hamsyer and it looked more normal but didn’t really have any wheat grains in at all! I’m using that one for now as the first one might not have all the correct nutrition. And I’ve ordered two more bags from a different place (ie not from Amazon) so hopefully a different batch. I’ll then mix it with the bunny dream 50/50 as usual. I do have some mixer and Syrian food but that would be quite a big change for a baby Hamster so don’t want to use it just yet.

Yes maybe - not very good - I've had it in the freezer so long I can hardly send it back now which is annoying.

You might be able to filter out some of the seed and key the bigger bits...maybe use a colander to sift it 🤔

Yes but I wouldn't be sure the mix was correct. I'm just going to bin that bag.

Good point. It’s annoying, but thankfully does look like it’s just that one bag.
