Happy Hamsters have apparently taken in more than 700 hamsters in the past two years. That's a lot of hamsters!

So many hamsters 😥 lovely they have all been rescued and found forever homes but so sad that so many hamsters end up in a rescue situation. I follow them on Facebook 👍

So do I :) It seems to be the way they deal with rehoming, via FB messenger. I rarely use FB but had to, to adopt our hamsters!

It's a good thing I live across the sea because Hamster Fair 2023 would be calling to me... and there's no way we wouldn't leave without another hamster.

I know! And there are so many lovely things for sale at these fairs as well! Both my two hamsters came via Happy Hamsters. It's quite a new thing. Their first fair was last year. There wasn't really anything like that before. There are the Hamster shows for the breeding side of thing but they are not such big affairs.

It is sad how many hamsters have been taken in over the last few years, it’s the same with all small rodent rescues being completely overloaded, so many lockdown pets being surrendered or just dumped.

How sad. They do such wonderful work. I hope they get a branch in London one day.

They seem to have branches and volunteers in various parts of the country - I’m not sure about London. Maybe they think London is already well catered for.

This Hamster Fair is an ethical hamster fair where they do not sell hamsters so you couldn't walk away with one, lol.

They promote good hamster care so no hamsters sitting in little boxes in this fair.

Don't you fancy a vacation in Birmingham?

They have a branch in Wiltshire.

There are no hamster rescues local to me. Often the ones in London are not what we call London and are in Surrey or Kent. What I love about Happy Hamsters is they can bring the hamster to you for a fee. This is great for people like us who do not drive.

I found that great too. I think they stopped doing that for a while in my area and like to tie it in with when they’re travelling a route to collect a hamster. I do drive but didn’t have access to a car at the time.

Ha! That makes sense. It would be quite an order to temporarily transport their ethical homes- and even that would be traumatic for them, so it's a no! I bet there's no shortage of pictures of available cuties though! and  to you final question :)
