Hamster Helper shop are now selling their own organic hamster food, hand made in batches, no lentils, protein content looks good and it's pre-frozen. It looks good to me and I've ordered some to try. However as with any non commercial mix, it won't contain fortified vitamins and I think it's best to give 2 or 3 science selective pellets as well just to ensure the correct nutrition and vitamins in case they don't eat all of it. She doesn't like lentils in hamster food and I very much agree with that!

I'll let you know what the hamsters think! I like the idea that it's all pre-frozen - not sure if I will re-freeze again or not ...........

There is a syrian mix and a dwarf mix - prices aren't too bad.

I forgot to add it was organic as well so edited the post. It does say that as it's all hand made and done in batches, you need to plan ahead before you run out!

It does look good. Going to be getting some in the future as I may have splashed out rather a lot on a certain small grey hamster recently.

I've also bought two broccoli micro green kits from there as well :-) To grow Broccoli sprouts. I think my two will have fun with these and the soil is said to be safe and free from fertilizers and pre frozen.

Brilliant idea, freshly grown food is alway nicest ❤

My food and little Broccoli micro green pots have arrived 😊. I won’t be using the food straight away as only recently opened two new bags of food for the storage box but will post back when I do. Although all the ingredients are pre frozen I can’t quite get past the precaution habit of freezing hanster food so will do so anyway as don’t need it straight away but it probably isn’t necessary and I might get braver about that!

The little terracotta pots are so cute! They are very small and there’s a little bag of sterilised soil and packs of seeds with them. I don’t quite understand microgreens and sprouts but it isn’t actual broccoli that grows but broccoli micro greens or sprouts - must find out more about this! They grow in about a week apparently and then you can put the whole pot in the hamster cage and let them attack it 😊

Photo of one of the pots next to a mug to show size.
