Good afternoon all,

I am Uk based and am now stuck on what bedding to get for Luna.

We usually get her Kaytee cosy bedding but all out of stock or no longer being sold on Amazon.

So what do I use?

I've used that brand for years and years for all my hamsters?

Hi yes I noticed it was out of stock at Amazon. You could get it from Porton Aquapet or you could get a bale of fitch. It's a big bag - not compressed like Kaytee - it's just recyled food grade paper - I use it. It's not as soft as Kaytee but I kind of prefer it.

The Fitch costs more but you get more of it. Although Kaytee says 85 litre and Fitch says 70 litre, somehow the Kaytee doesn't go nearly as far when uncompressed! But a larger bag may be less convenient.

Fitch (Amazon affiliate link).

So you can get your usual Kaytee above! As you can see I've started using some affiliate links to help cover running costs - mainly Amazon. But if you're used to Kaytee and it's a smaller bag to store then just get what you're used to maybe. Porton might be a bit slower delivery - not sure if they have a next day delivery option. :-)

Fitch is very nice (the small size Fitch pieces)
We have an annual donation period on the Hamster Forum 👛 but it was a while ago.

As Socks Mum says, we have one as well, around September every year - just before the forum anniversary in October :) The annual running costs have gone up a lot since the online safety act mitigations, and donations covered less than half the previous cost, so the idea was the affiliate links might help increase the funding a bit more but it might not be much, and we'll still need annual donations as well! It currently costs about £750 a year.

I quite like the idea of the affiliate links as we often post items from Amazon etc, and it just means if someone is buying something anyway, and they use that link, the forum gets a small commission - but the price is the same to you :)

We effectively advertise products we link anyway, so may as well get paid for it. I'm not predicting the links will make very much though!

Kaytee clean and cozy available from Porton Aquapet above!

We used the link to get the Kaytee bedding so hopefully this forum benefits

You should get a donate button. Happy to donate.
We'll have that in September :-) I just do the donations once a year before some of the bills come up! The Kaytee link wasn't an affiliate link but that's ok! Only certain ones are affiliate links (usually Amazon and Pets at Home :-)). But glad you found some Kaytee!
