He is growing up and getting more independent. Try asking him where he wants it! I know that sounds silly but sometimes you get a sign in behaviour. I would tap the bowl and say - where do you want it? Of course you may not get any answers! Maybe he just finds it a fiddle.

It's almost like he can see the water through the glass and wants it. Bit like people walking into glass doors.

Yes I also think he’s trying to get at the water and I’m sure he can see it. I think I mentioned like a cat with a goldfish bowl before
