Hello .. we have a brought our very cute Roborovaski dwarf hamster home today called Speed! He runs so fast on his wheel he keeps falling off it! Should be worried?

Hi there :-) This is very common - they fly off the wheel. It's usually just an initial thing until they get the hang of it and get more control. The main thing is to try and ensure there's plenty of soft substrate around if he flies off, so he has a soft landing - and nothing hard or with pointy bits or edges nearby that he could hit if he flies off. Is that possible? They do get used to and stop flying off. However sometimes it depends what wheel. A larger wheel can slow them down a bit. What size wheel does he have?

Phew! My daughter has been very worries about him.
It's a medium wheel from pets at home the silent adjustable one. It looks massive compared to him . The lady in the ahop
Recommended it. He also scales the bars of his cage and falls off 🫣 hoping he will learn that's not a good move.

Could you measure the diameter? It's probably big enough. 9" diameter is a good size for a robo but 8" is ok too :-) The bar climbing is a slight risk as they are so tiny and could fall and hurt themselves. But it might just need some tweaks to your cage set up to solve it. Also I don't think robos can actually climb very far as their feet don't handle it well anyway. Do you have a photo of his set up? They like lots of bedding to tunnel in. One reason he might be doing it is if he feels a bit exposed - they like lots of cover - things to dive under.
