I think if it was me, I'd get the bigger Grosvenor then take the first cage back to PAH and ask for a refund. I know quite a few people who've done that. You just say - it isn't suitable for a large Syrian. Then it makes the more expensive cage more affordable. Sorry - hope we're not causing you more headaches!

I thought the Grosvenor XL has a front door as well or am i thinking of a different cage?
It's the Ritz that has a front door but the whole top doesn't come off like this one does. I think it could work well for an active female.

It's a shame they don't cross the Ritz and the Grosvenor! The Grosvenor top with the Ritz front door :)

If you CAN afford the Grosvenor XL (or similar) and can fit it in - it actually is really worth it. My mistake was to upgrade to an 80 x 50 cage - similar size to the one you just sent for. And then having to upgrade yet AGAIN! If you get something the size of the Grosvenor XL, linked earlier, the hamster is set for life (and unlikely to bar chew as there's enough space) - and it's good in old age too as they can still have the floor space without the levels.

At the time, my OH made a huge fuss about the size of an 80 x 50 cage and an even bigger fuss when I then changed it again for a 100 x 50 - but he got used to it ha ha! I just rearranged the furniture to fit it in.

Hello. Yes I hope we didn't scare you away with our enthusiasm about cages :) . If you have decided to keep the one you sent for I am sure it will be fine if she comes out regularly :)
