Clive was in his sand jar this morning so i decided to clean the other half of his cage and put him in a holding box.

After a while he got fed up and was lying on his back trying to push the lid off with his four paws!

I soon put him back and he checked that his house, wheel and sand jar were where they should be, pouched some treats and went back to bed.

That really made me laugh, I can just picture Clive lying there trying to push off the lid!
He sounds very easy going with cage cleans, a few treats & he’s happy.

Brilliant! This made me chuckle Clive, I can just see you doing this. 😁

Clive has to rough it a bit today while i take his cage apart after finding what looked like a pantry moth stuck to his top door.

First thing he did when i put him in the spare cage just now was to pouch the porridge!

He'll go to sleep for the day. When he wakes later his cage will be sorted for him.

Don’t envy you having to sort the cage out but it sounds like Clive will hardly notice having a day’s kip elsewhere.

Oh dear. I really hope there are no pantry moths in Clive's cage. How cute he quickly pouched his porridge. That made me smile. :)

I've never lifted the wire top off since i got the cage and noticed that the corners and grooves look grotty so needs a clean anyway. If i don't find any evidence of moth i'll give the furniture a wipe over and put it back in plus most of the substrate.

Place looks a chaos with hamster stuff everywhere. Dishwasher and cooker getting used for hamster stuff too.

Just as well OH is abroad. Not that he'd care as long as he can get to the coffee machine.

It’s a palaver isn’t it? Hope everything turns out to be fine.

I'm glad to say that i did not find any traces of moth in Clive's cage.

Clive slept through it next door but when i put him back in his cage all hell broke loose.

I reused the clean part of his substrate but threw the old hoard from his house out meaning to replace part of it. I forgot.

He went inside his house and started to squeal like a piglet while bulldozing his way out.

I quickly took the house roof off, chucked in a couple of scoops of food followed by a whimzee and a half chewed stick.
He climbed in, sniffed the food and went quiet so i put the roof back on and left him to it.

You were well and truly informed about his feelings about no hoard! I have never had a hamster squeal like that before! Good you didn't find anything.

I was just thinking what a good idea it is to use the dishwasher! The plaza panels and corner pieces would fit in nicely! Except the two longer ones maybe. I know some people use the dishwasher for hamster wheels.

While moving Clive's table to check the walls i noticed that Eddie the little stinker had pee'ed in the tube at the back of his cage.

His cage will need sorting tomorrow after work and then i will hopefully get round to putting Lilly's new cage together.

Naughty little Eddie. :ROFLMAO: I think they do pee in tubes sometimes.

Good news no moths 😃😃 Sounds like you also managed a quick fix on the binned hoard. I always find it so difficult removing just some of the hoard and deciding what to keep.

Aw - he’ll cool off in there. It’s clouded over here so not too hot.
