Charmander 🌈 🐹

We really do miss him very much 😒 wish he was here with us today πŸ’–

No other hamster will ever replace Charmander, but I have to say, having been where you are after our first hamster died (I was seriously affected for a few months), it really did help to bring a new baby hamster home - who was a completely different personality and colouring. Because somewhere in the middle of that loss, you lose a part of yourself too and that part is being a Hamster Mum and the interaction and bonding with a hamster. It is something worth considering - and it can help heal some of the pain from his demise. Hamsters can be quite a comfort. They seem to tune into our emotions.

It's definitely something I want to do once the home improvements are finished πŸ₯° I wish I had a magic wand and a money tree 🀣 I am sure being a hamster mum again will be well worth the wait though πŸ₯°

I forgot about the home improvements!

I forgot about the home improvements!
We have the bathroom stuff arriving tomorrow 😱 then we just need the time off to do it, after that once the stairs and landing are done there's no reason I can't set up a cage again πŸ₯° the downstairs improvements shouldn't affect future hammie too much πŸ₯°

The kids bedroom is already done so technically I 'could' move toys around and put hammie in there but... its right next to the bathroom so I'm worried about the noise causing stress etc which is why I want to wait for the upstairs to be finished first πŸ’

Yes it sounds like getting the bathroom done first would be best :) And probably the stairs and landing too. I like having the hamsters in the main living room so I see them more. When I had one in a quieter room it was too easy not to notice when he wanted to come out and I had to keep popping in there and checking on him. It was a bit too quiet. Now I get a hamster staring at me while I'm on the sofa and jumping up and down to say - let me out!

Aww that sounds so cute 😍 we had maple in the kids room and he loved it because that's where we spent a lot of time playing etc πŸ₯° charmander started in the kids room, then my room when we decorated and laid a new floor in the kids room, but he didn't like being able to smell the piggies so he ended up on the landing which worked really well. So well that we never moved him back πŸ™ˆ I'd love to have them in the living room but my snakes viv is in there so I'm worried while she can't get out that the smell would drive her mad which wouldn't be fair to either her or hammie πŸ₯°
