Little guy having breakfast this morning.
He is able to move his left leg! Not like how he uses his hands, but he is getting there. ❤

He really is tiny! He seems quite brave though. Do you know his weight? I guess you'll have to wait till he's a bit more confident before weighing him. It would mean him being out of the cage in a safe area and he probably needs a couple of weeks to settle in first. When you do, what works for me, to avoid the stress for them is using flatbed digital scales. Eg if he was in the bathtub set up as a playpen area (so he couldn't escape) you just put them on the bottom, put a smelly treat in the middle and zero them and the hamster just walks on, sits there, eats the treat and you can read the scales :)

Like this (he had already eaten the treat at this point!)

I'll try to get him to do this once he settles in. I don't have a bathtub, but I have a space in my room I can easily hamster-proof.

And I can't go on without saying that the hammy in this photo is really a cutie!

He's a giant ha ha.

Here's another photo of him hiding under my avocado pillow. He got a treat for being so good, and just being cute in general. 😁

I like that he gets a treat for stuff like just being cute in general. Very well deserved!

He crawled on my hand!!! 🥺🥺
(Do we make the updates in this topic, or am I doing this wrong?)
He kind of sat there and watched the room.
It's barely been a week, is it normal that they get used to humans this quickly? He's only not agressive with me when he is out of his house, though, which is quite interesting... (He bit me multiple times while I was changing his water, putting his food bowl in etc.)
He never touched his chew too...

As this is your introductory thread, you could start a thread for him in the Syrian Hamsters section, for updates :-)

He is so unbelievably cute and adorable! And seems so tiny! They do behave differently out of the cage than in it. The cage is their territory and they don't like people messing with it! Hence the not cleaning out too much. But he's probably just scared if a hand is in his territory. They don't usually bite so he must be quite scared.
