There are usually a few hamsters amongst their rescues and there are a few guinea pig people here so I hope this is OK

It's an awful situation - people have lost their entire homes and possessions and the whole familiar neighbourhood. I hope the ones that were evacuated took their pets with them.

It sounds quite positive re pets - people took them with them and hotels are accepting pets with families. Plus a local vet opened a vacant animal hospital to take some pets in that couldn't be taken to hotels.

Yes, it's good to see things like that taking place against a background of such devastation
