Bruce

Bruce in his wheel. The bottom pic you can see where he's healing up. He's just had his cage cleaned and been out for a short cuddle, (He's not keen on too much handling) so he's probably cleaning the smell of stinky human off himself. 😆

Bruce has healed up nicely, you'd never know anything was wrong with him. I had to dig him out his burrows last night to see him as I never usually see him unless I catch him out eating and drinking. He's so shy. He's always been shy. But I feel like a rubbish owner because I never see him. I don't know if it's because of having waffles too I feel like this as she's very demanding but poor wee Bruce never asks for anything. He just gets up on his own terms and potters about. He's still got his sprays he picks at occasionally. Whereas Waffles turns hers to mulch overnight. 😔Then I feel like a bad owner because "they must have sprays" but she strips them in less than 12 hours. And if I keep putting them in constantly she keeps stripping them. 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

It's so great that Bruce is doing so well, sweet hammy. Socks won't touch sprays. He sits and does nothing if I don't take him to the playpen, although he does use his wheel a bit in his cage ❤️

It’s great news he’s better. It’s difficult isn’t when you have two and one demands all the attention. But I think if Bruce wanted more he’d be begging for it.

It was like that when I got Tino and still had Raffy. Raffy had to be out all the time every night. Tino was shy for a long time. I used to feel I wasn’t giving him enough attention but then he seemed happy being shy and just being talked to. Raffy however used to glare at me and seem jealous if I talked to Tino. Tino was about a year old before he got more keen on coming out. It could have been because he was the only hamster at that point but I think it was more his maturity.

Finally managed to get some pictures of Bruce, around his eye has totally healed now. He even had some fun playing with his hanging toy I made from an egg box and raffia, its filled with "hamsters we love" golden grains mix and some mealworms. Spot the seed on his head in the middle pic. 🤣IMG_20250911_093529357_AE.webpIMG_20250911_093837637.webpIMG_20250911_094022593.webp

He looks to be having a lovely time there - and with his little seed hat! He is looking very well - all back to normal :-)
