Aww! He looks happy with his porridge. Is he your own robo who likes porridge?
Yes. Scottie didn't touch it and Finley isn't about in the morning.

Monty didn't take to it and Gordon jumped into it then rolled in the sand to get it off but made it worse.

Lilly would probably eat it because she's a bin but don't want to give it to her. She's fat enough as it is.

Would it be the same as mixing oat flour with water? My partner asked as he thought it would be smoother for robos.

I don't think so because flour and water makes a paste. Worth a try though.
I find that hamsters like the coarse texture of porridge.

Thank you. My partner will try Orko with porridge one morning as he gets up early. :)

You can get different sizes of oats. Some smaller oats make a smoother porridge. I used to like the mornflake ones. I think they do different grades of oats too. Pinhead oatmeal is probably the finest and majes a smooth porridge. But I’ve given a Robo normal porridge without issue - the bits aren’t large and they are soft after cooking.

Bernard looks so cute eating his porridge. He must be a very happy boy now, being with you.

He seems happy and looks it as well. He was such a worried looking little thing when i first got him.

Oh he is so so cute! He really does look so much happier! It is wonderful to see the transformation.

He’s so adorable, it’s lovely that his confidence has grown & he knows he has no worries now 😍

Bernard is the smallest hamster in the house but he is the biggest stinker!

Male dwarfs and especially Robos can be smelly, not all though.
Ozzy's cage always smelled of old, smelly socks and this had nothing to do with pee spots or cleaning.
Pancake was another one.
Scottie is the same even though i know where his two pee spots are so can spot clean them. I used to clean his HH by removing everything, never found any damp, pee smelly substrate and replaced most of the substrate with fresh once but two days later his HH was smelly again.
I then accepted that i had another little stinker.
Bernard is taking this to another level but could have something to do with living in a tank and tanks don't have good ventilation like barred cages.
I will take the roof off his house and check under the platform to rule out any damp pee patches or gone off fresh food. If i can't find anything like that then i will simply accept that i have another little stinker and leave him to it.
It is not a smell i find offensive, it's more of a natural smell like being in a farm yard.

Interesting. I've never noticed any smell from either of our robos. Mind you Pip is absolutely tiny. But then so is Bernard!

There was never a smell off little Gordon who lived in a tank to over 2 years old. No smell of Monty either.

What kind of smell? Pee?

No, not pee. Ranges from old, smelly socks to farm yard depending on dwarf. Musky kind of a smell that returns a couple of days after a cage clean.

The hamster doesn't smell and no issues with scent glands either. I heard of people mentioning smelly, male Robos. Never had a smelly female dwarf.

It's not an issue, more of a curiosity.

Lucky for Orko he does not smell as it would not fit his spotless image.
