Any advice on settling in please?

It depends which wooden wheel. Do you mean the trixie wood wheel or the trixie plastic one? Any of the wood wheels need painting with plastikote really (pet safe waterproofing paint so you can wipe it clean) - or they can get stinky. You can scrub them in water if not plastikoted but eventually they fall apart doing that.

If you had the Plaza I'd say get the 12" silent runner wheel plus bar attachment as it screws to the bars and you can have it at any height. Thing is, it won't fit in the current cage, which either of the trixie wheels will fit.

We've decided to order the plaza, it'll be here Tuesday. Ir cones with a wheel, I don't think its the right size though.

No the wheel in the Plaza is only big enough for a dwarf hamster. This is usually the cheapest place to buy the Silent Runner. It's more expensive than the trixie wheel though. But not as expensive as some wheels! The cage attachment bracket is extra

You can either use it on the stand or use the cage bar attachments - it works better with the bar attachments. And it's totally silent! Also spins really well.

On it's stand though, it wouldn't fit in the current cage. It would fit in the current cage with the bar attachments, but it would rub against the top of the base. So you might need to just make do with the current wheel till you get him moved to the new cage. It fits well in the Plaza. I used to have it near the top so there was plenty of room underneath it for substrate.

Roll on Tuesday, he doesn't like his wheel that's in there now. I've never seen him on it 😒

I'm swaying towards the silent runner now...

OK, hopefully it'll come Tuesday so he'll be moving in on the Wednesday 🤞
