I just rescued adult male and female Syrians who were kept in the same cage without intent of breeding. People are beyond me as well.
As a matter of interest. Why did you rule out breeding based on the fact that Ivy bit?
As for Ivy, she's lucky to be in your care and i hope that she'll have a natural birth.
Could the biting be caused by Ivy's pregnancy? I'd also suspect that breeding may have been the original intention of keeping Ivy with two males.
Only the male Syrian is with me. The female is in a rescue who has taken in pregnant hamsters before so she'll be well cared for.
