All went well at the vets.
When we got home I gave Albert a cuddle and a few of his favourite seeds. When I put him back in his cage he had a dig and roll in his sand and then went off to his nest.
Albert saw a vet not the nurse. She recommended I a small piece of very fine sand paper in Albert's cage for him to walk on. I told the vet that "Albert already has a terracotta dish, sand bath and a rough stone". The vet said "that's all good but I still recommend fine sand paper".
What does everyone think to the recommendation?

Good to hear it all went well.
Some vets do suggest sand paper but personally I don’t like the idea, to have any effect they would have to be running or walking over it quite a lot & that means a lot of abrasion on their pads, it may or may not be harmful, I think it could be & I do think it would be quite uncomfortable for them.

Albert seems to have handled that really well 
Clever boy. Sandpaper is a terrible idea. Definitely not recommended. Bad for their pads and bumblefoot is nasty. Likewise sandpaper running tracks on wheels. Vets are good on the medical side but do recommend some funny things sometimes.

Maybe Albert should go and get jels done! (Is that the right terminology?). The only time I had nails done was when daughter got married in Aus. 2020 x

Albert is doing great thank you. He's demanding lots of cuddles and sofa time at the moment. Which I love

I was worried Albert would be angry with me after the vet trip. Even the vet said "Albert may not be himself for a few days". But Albert has been very loving and even more confident.

Small but mighty Albert and so cute tooBelieve me Albert was incharge at the vets. They couldn't believe how quick he could move and how he charged like a bull. I did warn them but the vet did act like they knew best
