A week in the life of my hamsters - February

I hope work goes okay. What a horrid shift to have to work over night.

I cannot help feel Lilly may trick your OH into getting extra fresh food later...

It's not a bad shift because i get paid for sleeping and it's my choice. I do agency work only so no permanent job that dictates to me when i have to work.

Yes, our crafty little Lilly.
This morning she was at her door so i let her out but she kept coming back to me looking for my hands. This happened twice and then i realized that out of cage time was not what she was after.
I remembered my OH saying that he gives her mealworms when she comes to her door while i'm at work.
I gave her a couple of mealworms and she run off with them. Haven't seen her since.

Day 4:

Just picked up a rosemary plant in the farm shop on my way home from work. It will go into a pot in the hamster graveyard.
Got an alpine as well as i like those.

OH told me that Clive popped his head out and screeched at him angrily when he called him this morning. Then Clive suddenly stopped screeching, sniffed and came out to eat his porridge.

As expected, Lilly got him to feed her treats and he had seen Finley running around.

Jack looked alright and Bernard as well. Only one he hadn't seen was Eddie but his food had gone.
In the tiny cage he was always by his door but has gone underground since he moved into his HH.

Just for the fun of it, we could have a guess at Eddie's thoughts.
Anybody want to have a guess?

Wow, he saw Finley running around! I did think Lilly would manage to get extra treats.

Eddie: I have a wonderful home and now I can be my true self.

Love the plants, I have some rosemary in a pot, with the weather being so weird it’s been in flower since November & looks lovely. Bit too wet here for alpines though!

I wonder what Clive was thinking with all that screeching, saved by the porridge whatever it was.

As for Eddie, hmm “Who needs humans when you have a palace?” or maybe “ Well this is what I really call home, no-one’s going to get me out of here!”

Lilly: my silly human thought that i can't tell a nibblot from a crock! I demand to be given crocks only.

Her face when she realised made me burst out laughing! :ROFLMAO: She really glared at you afterwards! You should watch your back Beryl.

I know. She gave me the evil eye alright.

The photo on my hand was taken before the offending nibblot. I've fallen into disgrace since.

“ Well this is what I really call home, no-one’s going to get me out of here!”

Haha, he may well be thinking that and he's not taking any chances either.

I think Clive got mad because my OH called his name which must have woken him up.

Lilly: i found something edible.

No sign of Eddie but his HH is starting to look lived in.
Whimzee sticking out of the sand, poops deposited in front of the wheel, aspen inside coconut flattened and little paths in the substrate where he runs along.
All good signs. I gues that he's sleeping inside the house going through the side door via the hyacinth tunnel because he completely blocked his house door with substrate.

Sounds like he’s really settling himself in & making himself at home then, I’m sure he’ll appear when he wants something!
