A week in the life of me and the animals!

Hope you get over the effects of the race & feel a bit better soon.

I had no idea you had amphibian pets too, the salamanders are beautiful, really enjoyed seeing those.
Ditto! They are all really beautiful. It must keep you busy!

Thankyou! In total there are 31 animals here at the moment, it doesn't feel like it most days, but days like today when I'm tired it certainly feels it 😅
31 is a lot of animals! Are they all special needs?

Luckily no! At the moment 13 are special needs or have long term medical issues, so just under half.

A few are kind of "ticking time bombs" although currently healthy, having been rescued from emaciation etc the strain that will have put on their organs puts them at a higher risk of issues down the line, but we unfortunately won't know until it happens.

13 is enough to manage with special care anyway. I hope the others stay healthy - they are getting great care :)

Thank you for a wonderful and interesting week Eriathwen, and some amazing photos! I lost track and thought you still had a day to go lol! Or I'd have posted this earlier :) Similar to when I did my week, you had some eventful things happen (your Mum and the fly in the eye). But it's what I like about this thread. Real life happens along the way, whatever we planned to do!

I lost track a bit there too & didn’t think about the week being over!
It was a really interesting & enjoyable thread, thank you.

Although sometimes real life can throw us fast balls! I hope your Mum and your eye are doing ok :)

I have really enjoyed reading all about your week and seeing the beautiful photographs. You clearly put a lot of time and effort into creating this thread and it was so lovely to read.

I too hope you and your Mum are well.

You are a truly amazing person to take on so many animals and give them all your time, love and care.

Thank you so much for sharing your week with us.

Thank you for a wonderful and informative week with so many lovely photos.
Do let us have occasional updates on how all the animals are getting on as we know so much more about them all now.

Aw thankyou all! It was fun to put together so I'm glad you all enjoyed it. My eye is fine now, although Mum has another appointment tomorrow as she still isn't feeling 100%, but much better than she was.

I almost posted an extra day to be honest 🤣 it really did go quickly. Day 8 was actually Silver and Forrests 2nd birthday, quite a milestone for their genetic issues!

I shared this to my Facebook with their birthday post, as there's usually at least one person who asks me what a lethal white is when I post about the boys, but I figured it may be of interest here too! 😅

Would anyone like to volunteer to do next month by the way? :-) Starting around 18th July (or thereabouts) for a week.

Happy birthday beautiful boys! They have reached a great age for a lethal piggy.
