He's so photogenic! What kind of toys do you have in the playpen? Do you have a wheel in there or a 30cm flying saucer, a tunnel or cardboard box with holes, that kind of thing.

I agree 100%, love that last one as well. Such an endearing face, who couldn't love that?

I think Oreo has found his confidence He was like a thing possessed this evening, climbing every which way, he even climbed out of his playpen!!

I haven’t got much in there yet as he’s only been in it twice, so picture me rapidly constructing a cardboard maze whilst plucking him down from the cage wire constantly

He had some nice lap time too

I was also pleased last night to see he is actually using his wheel - I hadn’t been sure as it never seems to move! I didn’t feel well last night though so I came back downstairs about 11.30 and he was on the wheel! He stopped like a rabbit in headlights when he realised I was there but I stayed downstairs for the night in the lounge and I did hear him running on it later

I just wish it hadn’t been dark/I had my phone with me, because he sat in that classic hamster pose with his little front paws in the air for aaaaages and it would have made such a perfect photo!!

Ironic really. I got reminded how much I love hamsters again because I’ve taken up drawing and I had been looking for a good hamster reference photo to draw…. Didn’t find one (at least half the ‘hamsters’ on pixabay are guinea pigs ) - but I did find Oreo

Climbing everywhere and then this innocent little face in the last photo. Brilliant.

It sounds like Oreo's personality is starting to come through now.

Aw, that's fantastic. How is Oreo when he's on your lap, is he a cuddlebug? I always find it funny how hamsters interact when they have free access to their humans, some crawl in your pockets, others climb up your arm to lick your ear
