Second chance hamsters

I let Toby out last night with the devider removed so he had the whole place to himself.
Curious thing is that he stays in the hamster room and runs circuits around the room. Now and again he stops to sniff at something or eats a dropped seed before he's off again running his circuits at top speed.
When he's tired he hovers near me but stays on the move. I do eventually manage to scoop him up without chasing him (chasing scares hamsters) but last night my top was tucked in! Silly me. I completely enclosed him in my hands and carried him the short distance. I'm surprised that he tolerates that without nipping.
He's quite an interesting little character who does things a bit differently from other dwarfs.

Toby such an amazing little character. I think it is wonderful you can carry him now.

He certainly is an interesting little character, quite the individual & it’s lovely to hear all about him.

Aw he really is cute isn't he?

Toby is incredibly cute :)

Little Davy had to wait until Clive run into the hall so i could put the barrier up.
Davy does not like waiting and chewed on cardboard with a very grumpy little face on.

Toby climbed on his saucer tonight and i lifted him out and onto my lap then picked him up.
He's running around in the playground now.

What happened to that quiet little boy?! That's lovely you could pick him up and have him on your lap.

Davy! Oh sorry I didn't read properly. It was Toby on your lap. But Davy - what happened to the quiet little boy?

The quiet little boy wasn't around for all that long, lol.
Davy is turning into a right little character and he behaves like the others now. I think Clive is his mentor, bad habits included. He really copies Clive.

Davy knows his name and i can pick him up and carry him for a short distance.
He made good progress. It's like there was this lively and funny little hamster waiting to come out.

Otto is not keen on Davy or Davy's scent. I've noticed that a few times. If my hands smell of Davy, Otto will shake me off and start scenting like mad. I went to pick up Otto in the bathroom but i smelled of Davy so he started scenting. Had no unscented soap handy and used handwash instead. Otto was fine with that. Looks like the smell of handwash is preferable to Davy's.

They have all been out tonight, run in their wheels when the dwarfs were out and for the last hour they've all been in their nests.
Funny how they seem to do things together.

Little Davy gets up early and wants to be first one out but so does Clive. I put the devider up so they both got out at the same time for their first run.

Toby is still in his sand jar washing.
