Hi all,

I order most of my hamster stuff off Etsy, i'e flax sprays, seed etc.

I have a pets at home near me which 90 percent of their stuff isn't safe such as the dusty sand bath bags.

My question is - Hamsters can chew Whimzees, I get them off Etsy but they also stock them in my local P&H.

So my question is - are these the correct ones safe for my little fluffy?

Yes those are the correct ones - I didn't know PAH sold them! So thanks for the link. You might have got a smaller size than that when buying them elsewhere - I think the smaller size is called mini? Personally I prefer the "small" size like the ones you've listed as it's a better size for Syrians IMO and easier to stick seeds between the bristles :-) Plus funnier when you see a hamster running off with one and trying to get through an entrance with it ha ha.

I was trying to find a way of uploading a video of sparky running with a whimzie lol

You need to upload it to Youtube and then just paste the link on here in a message and it opens up the video on the forum post (ie embeds it). If you don't want the video to be public on youtube, then just set it to "unlisted" at the time of uploading - then it only appears wherever you past the link :)

So it would look like this. With the option to play directly on the forum or follow the link to watch on youtube. This is one of my Syrians on his second birthday :) He's 2.5 now and doing ok.

Awww his colour reminds me of my Sparky. He's cute!

So my father got me these as a present for the Hamster - are these safe?

I haven't come across those before, but looking at the description/contents, they look fine to me. @elusive and @Daisy are our nutrition experts so will know better :-)

I was told any except the ones which contain calcium so I stick to the brown ones

To be honest, I've used all three colours. Over the years there have been various comments about contents and colours - originally it was the alfalfa ones were said not to be good, yet some pet food contains alfalfa. I think they're all fine and safe and widely thought to be :)

By the way the "paprika" element is just a colouring not the actual spice.
