I think we all know that all hamsters are adorable, whatever the species. But what is your favourite species and why?

For me it's Syrians and Robos - but then I've never had a Chinese hamster and sadly can't have dwarf hamsters. Syrians because they're quirky and funny and will sometimes have a cuddle and are a good big handful!. Robos - because they're quirky and funny and great fun to watch and interact with (usually at arm's length).

for me its Syrians...since my first love Fidget....🐹
(but to be fair .. Ive never looked after the others.)

Aw it's lovely that Fidget is your first love :-) I think a first hamster is sometimes the most special one perhaps. Even though other hamsters are special as well.

Hi Maz ..Fidget was my hamster from years ago, as a 10 year old kid... chunky monkey black eyed cream....but Im on here now because Ive recently taken over the care of a Syrian male Buddy .. the fella in the photo.. edits cause it was not having your name !!! haha

I have had a robo and a dwarf hamster and both are amazing for different reasons. I love the way robos have so much personality and intelligence. They are so fast and busy. Just watching them is so much fun. The thrill when they learn to trust you is heart warming. With dwarf hamsters I love their personalities and the way they are so food motivated and the affection they can give.

Oh sorry - of course it's Buddy! It's still adorable that Fidgets was your first love :)

I’ve only had Russian & Chinese, love them both & couldn’t choose between the two really.

I’ve only ever had Syrians. The smaller ones seem to be super speedy and I’m not sure I’d be up to handling them 🤔 Mind you, having said that, Blossom is pretty speedy lol

Chinese & Robos
Chinese because Little Bear is a Chinese ham and he has a place in my heart,\
Robos because they are so darn cute!

I've only ever had 2 a Syrian when I was a child which used to bite me but I confess it was probably my own fault I was too young and no one to teach me the right way to care for him_her (I never knew which) now I have a dwarf who is gentle and sociable so for me it's a dwarf. I interesting post BTW.

You have a lovely relationship with Pete :)
