Maybe a difficult question, but what do you love most about your hamster/s?

What I love most about Sprite is his sweet nature. He is so very sweet. Even when I do a health check he will not bite me. He is just adorable.

That’s a very good but very hard question!
They’ve all been different & had different super appealing traits but probably the common denominator with all my hams has been their sensitivity to moods, state of mind or just how I’m feeling when I need it most.
Bit early to say what Liriél’s special trait might be.

Sprite is very sweet Rainbow :-) Elusive I agree with you about their sensitivity to moods and how their owner is feeling. They are intelligent and have feelings.

Mine have all been different too. With Raffy it's that he has endless enthusiasm and always looks happy. I've never seen him grumpy once! The nearest thing to it was to opt out of coming out after I missed letting him out the night before, but he looked more aloof than grumpy. He is not the most cuddly of hamsters, but he is such a happy cheeky little personality.

With Pip it is sensitivity and communication really. He is very sweet and very sensitive. He will come nose to nose with me at the bars sometimes but then disappear for ages. It's like he's saying - I know you're there, hello.

Charlie, our first hamster, was probably the most sensitive one. If the slightest thing moved in his cage, even half a centimetre - he would be in a state of shock and disappear for days. He liked everything left just as it was. Which is tricky when you needed to remove something for cleaning and it was a few millimetres out of place when you put it back. He was the master of black looks and turning his back on you if he wasn't happy about something as he got older. But he was also very sweet and sensitive and would sit for ages for cuddles, having his ears stroked.

I love that Albert likes cuddles and is never in a rush to run off 🐹🤗💕

I love that they may be small but still have their own big personalities, likes and dislikes and preferences. I’m loving getting to know Blossom and what she likes best, and how to meet her needs and cater for her own preferences. It makes me chuckle how much she likes egg boxes…no other type of cardboard will do 😄 I also love how confident she is.

The sweetest thing one of my hamsters ever did is this…I used to sit on the bottom of the stairs to put on my shoes before going to work in the morning . At the time, my hamster Rudi‘s cage was on the sideboard at the bottom of the stairs by the front door. She used to come out of her bed and stand at the end of the cage while I put my shoes on, then I’d say goodbye to her and go out to work. Unfortunately I became very unwell and housebound with ME (I’m completely well now yay!) and I couldn’t walk down the stairs. I used to have to sit on the top stair and shuffle down on my bottom! When I sat down at the top of the stairs, Rudi would come out of her bed and stand at the end of the cage the whole time while I shuffled down the stairs until I got to the bottom, even tho it took ages. She was awesome ❤️ Also, she was my first hamster who showed she understood language. I used to say she was ’clever’ when she was in her wheel. I could say to her ‘are you clever?’ and she would go and jump in her wheel ❤️❤️

I totally agree with that - small but with big personalities.

Make sure you read the edit to my comment above 👍
I’ve just read it :-). They really are intuitive little things and they can bond with us. That is a lovely story. So sorry about the ME but so glad you are better.

My daughter says, "Because they are super adorable." I agree, and I'll add (no disrespect to Guinea pig lovers), I think they are so cute and soft compared to other rodents, but I also like how active they can be (ironic since our current hamster is most active while we sleep, so I can't personally enjoy his antics as often).

They are super adorable! Their expressions and funny moments and the way they look so innocent.

Ooohhh with each hammie it's been different 🙈
With maple I loved how friendly and sweet and caring he was! How he would wake up to do oldests Google meets with her during lockdown and how he clearly missed her when she returned to school 🥰 how he brightened our lockdown so much 😍
With charmander I loved his determined spirit and feistyness- it was chars way or the highway! The first time he put his paws on my hand after months of trying on Christmas day after he got his presents like even though he normally wouldn't allow human contact he was saying thankyou in his own way 🥰 how the day he passed he snuggled into my daughter willingly and gave me my first ever (and last 😭) charmander kiss 🥰
Teddy- how easy going and chill he has been from the start! His cheeky little personality making me giggle from day one and how he always knows when I'm having an insomnia attack and will wake up regardless the time of day or night 🥰
In general- they're smart, lovable and have huge personalities in a tiny body!
