Hi there!

Today I was thinking about what to post a thread about, and then I thought of it. We all had to be new members at one point. So, what did you do first? You could also along with answering post a little story about your first time on the forum. What did you feel like? Why did you join? When did you join? This is just a friendly poll to learn about your fellow hamster lovers. I hope you enjoy and learn a little bit about your neighbor

The first thing I did was post the thread "Meet My Hammie!" on September 8th of 2023. (I'll leave a link down below)

I wanted to join a hamster forum. My husband recommended because I was new to the whole hamster owning thing. So originally, I wanted to join the Hamster Central, but it had a crazy sign-up process that included sending a letter and mailing it to their headquarters(?!), so I didn't, instead joining here.

And I've never regrated it

Hi there Hammie Heart, I was completely new to Hamster care also and joined the forum looking for information on how to befriend our little Ham as he would only ever hide from us. The warm welcome I received and the knowledge here was exceptional and I never looked back, this has always been my go to and I love seeing and reading about everyone else’s hamster too.

It has certainly helped me to ensure our hamster was living his best life as I slowly made changes to his home, enrichment, bedding and food, all from information I read on here. I would never have thought to buy flax sprays, millet, flax seeds etc, or to have a sand bath area.

One of my first posts was asking about other peoples playpens and what they had in them. I would recommend this forum to everyone, it’s such a great way to share and learn more about our gorgeous pets.
