After researching and referencing, both the fruit and veg post and the safe and unsafe treats post, I've combined them into a home page article here. There is further information added today - including vitamin C causing pouch cancer (which definitely rules out citrus fruits!). It also includes calculations and photos to show how much chocolate is toxic for hamsters. But in addition to that, chocolate also contains caffeine so still isn't safe to give. But a small amount eaten accidentally isn't going to cause harm.
