This is the best I can come up with at the moment Pete knows where the low part is though and has to be watched I need more cardboard but it does give him a really good safe area to exercise in and he now does do zoomies 😃

That looks good, it does give him quite a big space to zoom around in, they’re so quick to find the low parts or any escape route aren’t they!

Oh yes and intelligent enough to figure it out and remember what didn't work last time so trying various methods of going awal

That is a great idea! A lovely big space for Pete to run around. :)

They certainly are intelligent at working out how to get round things! Is there something else you could put/prop behind the low part? (I am thinking of my lap trays I use on the stairs!). I can't quite see but could he get round the end by the glass door and behind it? Looking forward to seeing Pete out and about!

Yes I keep looking in charity shops for more suitable barricades I do sometimes wedge my craft self healing cutting mat between the low card and box behind but it's not all that stable the end near the glass door has perspex cut to fit and firmly wedged under the edge of the door the weak spot at that end is where it meets up to the card what did I used to ponder about in life before Pete lol

They certainly get us doing strange things ha ha - but it's good for the brain I reckon and keeps us creative!

It's all a game to hamsters. We make the room hamster safe and the hamster finds the weak spot. 🤣

Same with a new cage and set up. We spend ages doing fall risk assessments convinced we've got it covered. Along comes hamster and jumps off the one and only place we hadn't thought possible.

Maybe you could put a wheel in front of the lower section or a cardboard box with the top open and holes cut out on three sides.
