The male guppies are almost grown up and looking rather beautiful. I thought males would be problematic with fin nipping and picking on each other, but these ones get on very well 🀞🐟🐠

They look lovely 😊. They seem to have long orangey coloured tails. One of them has a really long tail!

Thank you! Yes, they need to show off to catch the ladies (except that the females are in another tank) I'm really enjoying keeping the little male guppies.

Hehe, I took out a small male who was old enough to go into the all male guppy tank, no more babies thank you. I was admiring the ladies tank, thinking, so now we're safe when I noticed some little eyes peering out from amongst the plants. Not quite yet, but I think the two tiny new fry are both girls πŸ˜„

All you can see at the moment are their eyes. I really hope they survive, they are very sweet and it's nice to have some extra females as the adults don't live that long. The males bicker a bit, but the females share their tank very harmoniously 🐠🐠🐟

That’s a nice surprise πŸ˜ƒ. The one in the second picture looks so tiny, cute. Hope they both grow well.

Mr Gourami tending his bubble nest.
I was just thinking it would be nice if the gouramis did some bubble nesting, and then Mr Gourami #1 (of three) built lots of nests ❀️ He is chasing Mr G 2&3 away and his colours are developing nicely. Gourami fathers build bubble nests with their saliva and parent the eggs within the nests until the fry are hatched and ready to swim away. The female gets chased away in case she eats the young 🐟🐠

Beautiful, I like Mr G his face has character πŸ₯°πŸ’•πŸ’ Ness
Thank you. He is a Honey Gourami. I intended to get three females and a male, but have three males and a female 🀨 as I bought them when they were still young. They are the most peaceful of all gouramis. The other species are more territorial and the males don't get on. Pearl gouramis and Dwarf Gouramis are very popular and bigger. The little Honeys are quite shy unless they are kept in quite big groups. I got them as they get on really well with my Amano Shrimps and never worry them whereas other species would try to eat the shrimps. They are characterful little fish and I like their serene personalities. If the female does lay eggs, I am sure the male guppies who share the tank will eat them, which is a bit sad, but I can't keep any more fish in the tank as it would be very overcrowded, so probably for the best. It is nice though that the gouramis can have normal behaviour. I had a Siamese Fighting Fish on his own and felt rather sorry for him not having any female fish around 🐠🐟❀️

I totally love fish of all varieties 🐟🐠πŸ₯° I'm so looking forward to hearing more about them? We used to keep tropical and marine fish before we moved to Cornwall, it was our main hobby! So please tell more! We can't do it anymore and we do miss it. πŸ₯°πŸ’–πŸ’—πŸŸ Ness
