Ugh :-) Apologies to fans of spiders - I don't dislike them as long as they don't come near the bed (or on the ceiling over the bed). It's that time of year. So I foolishly ignored a resident spider a while back, which has been living on a window ledge and would scurry away if it saw a movement. What I had forgotten is that spiders can have babies, if you allow them to be resident. So there were quite a few small spiders on the wall above the bed. I got OH to get his spider catcher out to remove them one by one, as I did not want a spider falling in the bed at night. And he missed one and it fell in the bed. He then missed it again and now I don't know where it is! It fell behind the mattress. Oh well. It's not that big I just hope it goes away somewhere else! We did lift the mattress up a bit but couldn't find it.

Quite an adventure for a young spider. I hope he finds his way outside 🕸️

Oh that's no fun. I'm not that bothered by spiders either but I wouldn't want one running around the bed. Good luck finding and evicting it!

That would be a cause for me to move rooms! We've had loads of spiders and rather large ones too

I removed them as quick as possible in a glass in case they bite my pets.

I always look up at the ceiling n check corners I'd wake the neighbours if one dropped on me it's not exactly fear it's an involuntary reaction

I did contemplate moving rooms last night, but stayed up late and there was no sign of it so I eventually went to sleep! I think it probably did end up on the floor. I've mentioned this before but we do have a great spider catcher! It was a joke extra Christmas present to OH one year and has proved one of the most useful presents ever! You can stay at arm's length then just carry it outside and let them go outside. (Or as last night, out of the window!).

It's nice that they are released safely. They are useful creatures 🕷️ 🕸️

I think I would have to call them a nuisance... but that's because I have spent 20 mins this evening trying to evict one that darted across the room, and took refuge under the sofa my better half was sitting on! Let's just say that my wife is not a fan and leaving it was not an option. 🕷️🏃🌳🌳

It does seem to be this time of year in wet weather that they appear!

Apparently they are coming into the house looking to mate and have spiderlings (according to someone BBC breakfast last week). So I try and get them out of the house when I see them. I don't want to hurt them but I don't want them moving in either. Plus for some reason my missis thinks they are out to get her....

Oh they are! Why do you think they are above our bed! I'm not particularly scared of spiders, I just don't like them coming into contact with me. I once woke up to find a big one on my pillow walking towards my face. That totally freaked me out so after that - anything in the bedroom has to go. Especially if it's on the ceiling! Those spider catchers are good though!

I didn't realise they came in to mate - I always assumed it was wet weather drove them in.

Oh that is horrible, perhaps my other half is right and they are out to get us!

What I read at the time is that they seek moisture - so if you have a drink at the bedside eg - ugh! Otherwise they usually run away if you go near them.
